Colin Kazim-Richards swaps Celtic for Coritiba of Brazil

Celtic striker Colin Kazim-Richards has left the club and joined Brazilian outfit Coritiba, the Scottish Premiership outfit announced on Thursday.

The 29-year-old, who lists Fenerbahce and Galatasaray amongst his former clubs, after starting his career at Bury 12 years ago and then moving on to Brighton and Sheffield United, joined the Scottish champions earlier this year from Dutch side Feyenoord.

Celtic wrote on their official website: "Celtic FC can confirm that Colin Kazim-Richards has left the club and will be joining Coritiba. Everyone at the club wishes Colin the very best for the future."

Turkey international Kazim-Richards scored two goals in 12 appearances last season for the Hoops and has signed a contract with the Paranaense side until December 31, 2017.

A statement on the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A club's official website, portal.coritiba.com.br, read: "The striker Kazim is officially the new reinforcement of Coritiba. Kazim has already started the training with his Coritiba teammates on the afternoon of Thursday [June, 9].''

Kazim-Richards takes the place of departed winger Negueba, who completed a move to Gremio on Thursday. He will wear the number 10 shirt for Coritiba.
