Not all Giant Killers are completely below the radar.
Sure, we enjoy thinking about how this might finally be the year South Dakota State breaks through or what kind of show Justin Wright-Foreman might put on in a 13 vs. 4 upset by Hofstra. But don't sleep on the second round, in which name-brand teams in middle seeds can prematurely end the hopes of tournament favorites.
We haven't spilled much digital ink on these teams thus far, but that ends today. By definition, a Giant Killer is any team that beats another squad five seed lines its superior. These No. 7 through No. 10 seeds fit that criterion in the second round -- and in some ways have more impact because they are playing teams that could win it all.
Villanova Wildcats
Villanova is no longer a national title team. But the Wildcats are picture-perfect Giant Killers.
