The UFC is close to finalizing a featherweight bout between Cub Swanson and Kron Gracie for UFC Fight Night on Oct. 12, sources told ESPN.
The event will air on ESPN+. The UFC has not yet announced a venue for the Oct. 12 date.
Swanson (25-11) will be looking to snap the longest skid of his professional career. The 35-year-old has lost four in a row, dating back to December 2017. The losses have come to some of the top names of the division, however, in Brian Ortega, Frankie Edgar, Renato Moicano and Shane Burgos.
Fighting out of Palm Springs, California, Swanson has been fighting professionally since 2004.
Gracie (5-0) made his UFC debut in February, submitting Alex Caceres via rear-naked choke in just over two minutes. A decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist and a member of the renowned Gracie family, Kron has finished all five of his MMA bouts via submission.
A strawweight bout between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Michelle Waterson is expected to headline the event.
