ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions rookie running back Zach Zenner is out of the hospital and home resting, coach Jim Caldwell said.
Zenner suffered multiple cracked ribs and a partially punctured lung in the first half of Sunday's 37-34 overtime win over Chicago. The Lions placed him on injured reserve Tuesday.
"He's at home and feeling much better," Caldwell said Wednesday. "So he's doing well."
Zenner led the NFL in rushing in the preseason. He has 17 carries for 60 yards this season, including three rushes for 15 yards before his injury Sunday.
Caldwell also said linebacker DeAndre Levy underwent hip surgery. He did not have a timeline for his return or a decision on whether or not the franchise will put him on injured reserve.
