In avocado ice cream how-to, Tom Brady pretends to cut off a finger and takes a shot at the Atlanta Falcons

TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady poked fun at the reports circulating about his injured finger Friday, posting a video on Twitter where he pretends to lose his index finger in a kitchen accident.

In the video, which was an outtake for a how-to video about making TB12 protein-infused avocado ice cream, celebrity chef Nick DiGiovanni instructs Brady on how to throw a knife.

"It's just a knife throw," DiGiovanni says. "Everyone does it. You'll just take it, and put it into the board."

Brady then slams the knife onto a cutting board, before grabbing his hand, shouting an expletive and revealing what looks to be half of his index finger missing while DiGiovanni looks on in horror.

In the actual instructional, DiGiovanni calls for 28 cashews, while Brady says, "And three dates. 28-3," with a wink, poking fun at the Atlanta Falcons, who allowed Brady's former New England Patriots to come back from a 28-3 halftime deficit in Super Bowl LI to win 34-28 -- the largest comeback in Super Bowl history. The Falcons can't escape reminders of their Super Bowl collapse. The ball former Atlanta QB Matt Ryan used to surpass 60,000 career passing yards was put on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. The serial number on the ball was "283."

As for Brady's actual finger -- it's his ring finger and he injured it last Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. He appeared to be in some discomfort at practice Thursday, but coach Todd Bowles said Friday that it would not be an issue this week against the Green Bay Packers.

"He's ready to go, he's full-practice. He took every throw," Bowles said.

No word yet on how current teammates Julio Jones, Keanu Neal or special teams coach Keith Armstrong, who were on the losing end of that epic Brady comeback, received the joke, although knowing Brady, it's highly unlikely this was the first time they've heard it.
