The Cleveland Browns are re-signing defensive linemen Za'Darius Smith and Maurice Hurst, according to sources.
Smith's new deal is for two years and $23.5 million, sources said. Hurst is returning to the Browns on a one-year deal worth up to $3.2 million, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
In addition, the Browns are adding former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Jordan Hicks on a two-year, $8 million deal, a source told Schefter.
Smith, 31, finished second on the Browns with 5.5 sacks last season while starting opposite All-Pro pass-rusher Myles Garrett. Smith also had 27 tackles and eight tackles for loss.
The Browns traded two fifth-round picks to the Vikings last offseason to acquire Smith.
Hurst had a resurgent season with the Browns in 2023 after previously battling injuries. He emerged as a key piece in the rotation at defensive tackle for a Cleveland defense that led the NFL in several categories during the regular season.
Hurst finished with 22 tackles, including four for loss. He also produced one of the defensive plays of the year for the Browns with a tip and diving interception on Oct. 29 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Hurst, however, suffered a season-ending pectoral injury in December.
A three-time Pro Bowler, Smith has 60 sacks in a career that includes stops with the Green Bay Packers, Vikings and Baltimore Ravens.
