Former Sprint Cup driver Ricky Rudd is among the five new nominees for the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Rudd, whose record of 788 consecutive starts was broken in 2015 by Jeff Gordon, won 23 Sprint Cup races in his career.
Joining him as newcomers on the 20-person list are longtime car owner Jack Roush, longtime engine builder and crew chief Waddell Wilson, four-time Camping World Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday and NASCAR broadcaster Ken Squier.
All 15 people nominated last year who weren't admitted are back on the list: Buddy Baker, Red Byron, Richard Childress, Ray Evernham, Raymond Fox, Rick Hendrick, Harry Hyde, Alan Kulwicki, Mark Martin, Hershel McGriff, Raymond Parks, Benny Parsons, Larry Phillips, Mike Stefanik and Robert Yates.
The voting panel will meet May 25, with the top five vote-getters earning spots in the 2017 class.
Byron, Parsons and Hendrick were the top three vote-getters who were not selected for the 2016 class.
