Graham Henry's life and times in the rugby from his origins in New Zealand to his eventual downfall as coach of Wales.
1946: Born on June 8 in Christchurch.
1951: School: Christchurch Boys' High School, New Zealand, then Otago University, where he studied for a degree in physical education. Went on to become headmaster of Kelston Boys High School, Auckland.
1965-66 and 1967-68: Played first class cricket for Canterbury and Otago.
1974-80: Coach of Auckland Boys' Grammar 1st XV. Winner of five secondary school championships.
1981-85: Coach of University senior club team. Wins championship in 1984 and runner-up in 1981 and '83.
1984-85: Coach of New Zealand secondary schools.
1987-90: Won 41 matches and lost one as coach of Auckland Colts.
1991: Won five, drew one and lost two as coach of Auckland 2nd XV.
1995: His North Island side beat South Island 55-22.
1992-97: Wins four NPC titles and two Ranfurly Shields as coach of Auckland 'A' team.
1996: Winner of the inaugural Super 12 with Auckland Blues, with a record of played 13, won 11, lost two. His side included the likes of All Blacks legends Sean Fitzpatrick, Zinzan Brooke and Grant Fox.
1997: Auckland Blues win U-Bix Rugby Super 12.
1998: Coach of New Zealand A side which faced England.
July 27: Appointed Wales coach, the 13th national team boss, as successor to Kevin Bowring.
November: Led Wales to within touching distance of victory over South Africa at Wembley.
1999: Masterminded Five Nations wins against France, Wales' first in Paris since 1975, and England, then saw Wales beat South Africa for the first time in opening game at the Millennium Stadium after plotting a 2-0 Test series win in Argentina.
World Cup was a disappointment, Wales losing to Samoa in group stages and then eventual winners Australia in quarter-finals.
2000: Wales lost heavily to France and England.
2001: Another heavy defeat against England, 44-15 at Millennium Stadium, followed by second successive triumph on French soil, but Argentina won in Cardiff during the autumn after Ireland's 36-6 Six Nations romp in a game held over from the previous season because of foot and mouth.
2001: Leads the British & Irish Lions to Australia. Loses the Test series 2-1 in a tour that was blighted by rumours of unrest within the camp.
2002, February 3: Record 54-10 defeat against Ireland in Dublin.
February 6: Henry and the Welsh Rugby Union part company.
