LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Don't let Chicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky's relative inexperience fool you.

The rookie quarterback has only started four career NFL games, but teammates say the No. 2 pick of the 2017 draft already commands the offensive huddle like a seasoned veteran.

"A few weeks ago, we started to break the huddle early, and he said, 'Get the f--- back in the huddle, and don't break it until I break it," Bears guard Josh Sitton told Green Bay reporters on a Wednesday conference call.

"He kind of cussed at all of us linemen, and I was like, 'Hell, yeah. I respect the s--- out of that.' So things like that, that you don't usually see with a young player, he's kind of taken over and tried to be the leader."

Sitton knows firsthand how a successful quarterback is supposed to act.

He spent eight years in Green Bay blocking for future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers until the Packers cut Sitton right before the start of the 2016 regular season.

Trubisky has completed just 47.5 percent (38-of-80) of his passes on the year, but the Bears insist the rookie is improving week to week.

"Well, you see some similarities [between Rodgers and Trubisky], for sure," Sitton said. "His ability to move in and out of the pocket and throw the ball on the run. But he's got a long way to go before he can be compared to Aaron."

Sitton added: "I think we were excited to see [Trubisky] play. We saw flashes in the preseason, but you can tell the fans are definitely excited to see him grow, and anytime you have a high pick like that, the fans are going to be jacked up to see him play. So it'll be interesting to watch how he continues to grow and get better."
