IRVING, Texas -- As the second day of the Dallas Cowboys’ offseason program begins, running back Lance Dunbar and punter Chris Jones signed their restricted free-agent tender offers.

They had the ability to sign with another team through Friday but had not received any offers.

The Cowboys gave both players the low tender, worth $1.542 million. Had they signed with another team, the Cowboys only would have had the right to match an offer sheet and not received any compensation if they didn’t because both players were undrafted free agents.

Neither player is a lock to make the roster in 2015, however, Dunbar has had a third-down role the past two years. In 2014, he had 29 carries for 99 yards and caught 18 passes for 217 yards. With the departure of Dwayne Harris, he could see time as a returner as well.

Jones averaged 45.4 yards per punt with 21 punts inside the 20 and just two touchbacks. He had a net of 39.8 yards. The Cowboys signed Tom Hornsey earlier in the offseason, and he could push Jones for a roster spot.

The Cowboys had four restricted free agents but were able to sign wide receiver Cole Beasley to a four-year deal worth $13.6 million that included $7 million guaranteed and did not tender cornerback Sterling Moore, who has since signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
