A.J. Bouye looking forward to cold, snow, wind because ... hot chocolate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – There’s at least one Jacksonville Jaguars player looking forward to the windy, wintry conditions that are forecast for Cleveland on Sunday.

Why would cornerback A.J. Bouyee -- the NFL's reigning defensive player of the week -- be excited about The Weather Channel’s prediction of temperature in the 30s, 25-30 mph winds, and snow flurries?

Hot chocolate.

“I did it last year in Green Bay. It was fun,” Bouye said. “I was telling Jalen Ramsey]. He was looking at me crazy but I was like, ‘It’s going to be fun. That means they get to give us hot chocolate before the game so we get warm.’”

In an example of incredibly poor reporting, none of the media members gathered around Bouye’s locker asked if he took his hot chocolate with or without marshmallows.

Regardless, Bouye said he’s not concerned about the weather. He’ll dress in layers, use hand warmers, and smear Vaseline on his exposed skin to keep warm.

“It’s more of a mindset to me as far as it’s going to be cold in general,” said Bouye, who grew up in Georgia and played at Central Florida. “The only thing that’s going to really get cold is probably your feet.”

And if it does start to snow during the game? Even better, Bouye said.

“It’s going to be like [being] a little kid again,” he said. “When you’re a kid you have fun out there in the snow so you’re going to have fun out there playing in the snow. When you’re having fun you see what happens.”
