KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs had three players named to the Pro Bowl. Here’s a look at who was selected and who wasn’t selected:

SELECTIONS

Tyreek Hill, KR, second Pro Bowl selection: Hill made the Pro Bowl as a kick return specialist even though he’s averaging just 8.5 yards per punt return and he’s been removed from kickoff return duty this season. He was deserving as a wide receiver. He leads the NFL with eight catches of at least 40 yards.

Kareem Hunt, RB, first Pro Bowl selection: The rookie burst on to the NFL scene with a spectacular start, rushing for 148 yards, catching passes worth 133 more and scoring two touchdowns in his debut against the Patriots. He’s second in rushing with 1,201 yards.

Travis Kelce, TE, third Pro Bowl selection: Kelce is first among tight ends with 79 receptions and second in yards with 991.

SNUBS

Alex Smith, QB: Smith, the NFL’s top-rated passer, is having his best season. He has already reached personal bests in touchdown passes (25) and yards (3,738).

Justin Houston, LB: Houston, in his first complete season since 2014, has 9.5 sacks, which is tied for 16th. But he drops into coverage more than many elite pass-rushers. He’s had a superb all-around season.
