Kimi Raikkonen says he is not surprised to be at the centre of speculation because he has been reading the same stories about his Ferrari future since the start of 2015.
Ferrari is yet to take the option to extend Raikkonen's contract into 2016, with the Finn struggling to match the consistent results of new team-mate Sebastian Vettel. Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo and Le Mans winner Nico Hulkenberg have all been tipped to replace the Finn as the uncertainty continues.
Asked whether the future was still in his hands, Raikkonen said: "Obviously [Ferrari] make the decision. We try to do good races, the last race was a bit difficult but that's part of the game. Sometimes you have that.
"Who knows? I don't know anything more than you guys. It's all been speculation since the start of the year and always the same stories so it doesn't really surprise me."
After being eliminated from Q1, Raikkonen's Austrian Grand Prix lasted just two corners before colliding with Fernando Alonso and ending up in the wall. The Finn says accidents are just part of Formula One and that his struggles in Austria are not because he's starting to dislike the SF15-T.
"I don't see why I wouldn't suddenly like [the car] - just because I had an accident doesn't change anything," he said when it was suggested the new updates to the car were not to his liking. "You have accidents sometimes. We improved the car and it's still a great car, not probably fast enough to challenge Mercedes all the time but it's a very good car and a massive improvement from last year.
"Things go wrong sometimes but it doesn't mean you don't like the car or like the things, it's part of the game. It's a good package, obviously we want to improve and make it faster. Things can always be better, even if you're in a winning car you always are wanting more out of it. We've come such a long way from last year that people forget we're a working progress to improve things.
