Australian Formula One star Daniel Ricciardo has swapped his racing leathers for farming attire ahead of the 2016 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.
The 27-year-old, who sits third in the drivers' championship, visited Nelson Ranch in La Grange where he donned a traditional cowboy hat and learned everything from raking hay to lassoing a cow.
Ricciardo says he's no stranger to the outback and admits he enjoys the change of pace.
"I had a great time. I honestly enjoy a bit of the outback and a few of my mates back home have farms," Ricciardo said.
"Those hay bales are heavy though, much heavier than I expected so I certainly had to put in some effort."
Ricciardo has been in ominous form of late finishing on the podium in five of the last seven races, including a drought-breaking win in Malaysia earlier in the month.
His best result at the Circuit of the Americas was a third place finish in 2014.
