Leicester City have agreed a deal to sign Sporting Gijon defender Luis Hernandez on a free transfer, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.
Earlier this month, centre-back Hernandez revealed he would leave Gijon when his contract expired at the end of the season, and sources have said he is poised to join the Premier League champions.
Leicester have been tracking the 27-year-old, who can also play at right-back, for several months.
Hernandez, a former Real Madrid youngster, joined Gijon in 2011 and quickly established himself as a regular in the side.
He is set to sign a four-year deal at the King Power Stadium and will become Leicester's first signing of the summer.
