The ending of Thursday night's game between the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos brought back some bad memories for Richard Sherman.
A combined six field goals between the two teams had brought the game into overtime, and the Colts had kicked yet another one after an eight-play drive to put Indianapolis up by three. That didn't mean things were finished for the Broncos, however, as Russell Wilson completed two quick deep passes to bring his squad to the Colts' 14-yard line. Melvin Gordon III had two rushes to make it third-and-2 at the six-yard line.
Now, it's not quite a one-to-one matchup with the ending of Super Bowl XLIX, where Wilson and Sherman's Seattle Seahawks were at the New England Patriots' 1-yard line with 20 seconds to go, and nearly everyone in the stadium expecting Marshawn Lynch to ram the game-winning score home. In that game, Wilson took the snap in the shotgun, threw a pass to Ricardo Lockette, and ... well, Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler ended up with it. Game over.
But for Sherman, watching from the sidelines, seeing Wilson in the shotgun on fourth-and-one, where he threw an incomplete pass to Cortlund Sutton .. well, it may have reminded him of that fateful night in 2015.

That's a gif of Sherman's reaction to Butler's interception of Wilson, which went viral at the end of Super Bowl XLIX, which he tweeted along with "Flashbacks" after the game.
"On the final play, you gotta run the ball," Sherman said on the postgame show. "Man, I wish I had Marshawn up here. Like, one yard. You need one yard. Run the ball. Run the ball!"
