Jake and Tom Trbojevic never seriously considered leaving Manly, and they have the six-year contract extension with the NRL club to prove it.

The brothers intend to be one-club players and they took a significant step towards achieving that goal on Friday when they recommitted to the Sea Eagles until at least 2026.

By that time Australian representative lock Jake will be 31-year-old and NSW State of Origin back Tom will be 29, meaning they would have spent the prime of their careers at Brookvale.

"That was part of it ... to be a one club player is really exciting and I guess this contract will take me into my 30s and it'll be close to the end," Jake Trbojevic said.

The siblings had been linked to Canterbury, who were reportedly preparing a $10 million, four-year package for the duo.

Despite generating big money interest, the pair never wavered in their loyalty to the Sea Eagles.

"It was obviously going through the media about other offers but it didn't really cross our minds," Tom Trbojevic admitted.

"We still had another year here and we never really looked elsewhere. We'll just enjoy playing under Des and in the Manly colours."

Coach Des Hasler was instrumental in the negotiations and confirmed the pair were not signed on a package deal.

He also defended the length of the deals, citing their representative achievements and value to the Manly community as a reason for the lengthy extensions.

"It was pretty easy to work out the length of the stay," Hasler said.

"Being a one club player is a rare feat these days. They get that opportunity which is great for them, and great for the club."

Re-signing the club's favourite sons is a huge coup for the Sea Eagles, who finished the 2019 season in sixth place but were knocked out of the finals in the second week.

With the Trbojevic duo locked in, Manly's premiership expectations will skyrocket leading into the 2020 season.
