Jeff Napa reveals Jordan Sta. Ana has committed to Letran Knights

UAAP standout Jordan Sta. Ana is making his way to the NCAA with the Letran Knights.

Sta. Ana announced his departure from the UST Growling Tigers on Monday as he was one of nine players who left the basketball team. The scoring guard averaged 11.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists for the Tigers last season.

On Friday, just days after Sta. Ana bid farewell to UST, he was picked up by his former coach Jeff Napa of the Letran Knights.

"I already have him. Sta. Ana has committed to play with Letran," Napa divulged on Friday after the Knights defeated the JRU Heavy Bombers, 94-71 at the 12th Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup.

Sta. Ana was under the tutelage of Napa for three years during his high school days as part of the NU Bullpups.

Sta. Ana will be eligible to play for the Knights come NCAA Season 95 in 2019. For Napa, he sees the addition of his former player as a big boost for the school moving forward.

"There will be a lot of graduates," Napa explained. "This is in preparation for the Letran program."

Among those who will graduate from Letran following the next NCAA season will be veteran Bong Quinto and shooting guard Bonbon Batiller.

"At least we're consistent in our vision of bringing back the previous years of Letran basketball," Napa said.
