Cardinals rookie DT Robert Nkemdiche inactive with ankle injury

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals rookie defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche will be inactive for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay with an ankle injury after showing up on the team’s injury report Friday for the first time last week.

He was listed as questionable for the game.

Nkemdiche missed almost the first four weeks of training camp with an ankle injury he suffered a few days before camp opened during a practice for quarterbacks and young players.

Also inactive for Arizona will be wide receiver J.J. Nelson, who suffered a left shoulder injury in Week 1. Nelson, who was listed as questionable, didn’t practice Wednesday and was limited Thursday and Friday.

Arizona’s other inactives include safety Marqui Christian, guard Cole Toner, defensive tackle Olsen Pierre, defensive lineman Frostee Rucker and linebacker Kareem Martin.
