Taking a weekly look at Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy's fantasy output last week and outlook for next week:

Week 11 statistics: 13 rushes, 114 yards, one touchdown; one catch, 12 yards, one touchdown.

Week 11 fantasy output (ESPN PPR scoring): 25.6 points (10th overall, second among running backs)

Week 11 fantasy output (ESPN standard scoring): 24.6 points (7th overall, first among running backs)

What happened last week at Los Angeles Chargers: Rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman's five-interception first half helped put the Bills in a massive hole and rightfully overshadowed what was one of McCoy's strongest performances of the season. After Peterman was intercepted twice to begin the game and the Chargers missed a field goal, McCoy put the Bills on the board with a two-play drive that consisted of a 37-yard run and a 27-yard touchdown run. Both plays saw McCoy run off the left side of the line with left tackle Dion Dawkins and left guard Richie Incognito pulling outside and executing their blocks.

Those two runs accounted for 64 of McCoy's 114 rushing yards on the day. He was still effective on his other 11 runs, averaging 4.5 yards per carry. His offensive line, which has been inconsistent this season in run blocking, helped McCoy average 7.62 yards before contact per carry, the second-highest of his career after a 2010 game against Dallas (7.63).

In terms of usage and volume, McCoy played 64.6 percent of snaps, his second-lowest share of the season. Some of his drop in playing time can be related to the scoreboard, although McCoy actually played more second-half snaps (20) than first-half snaps (19). The Bills debut of pass-catching back Travaris Cadet also played a part, as Cadet took 35 percent of offensive snaps and had nine touches (six catches, three runs). McCoy had 14 touches, his third lowest of the season after his past two games (12 against the Jets and 11 against the Saints).

What to expect this week at Kansas City: The Bills will have Tyrod Taylor back under center, although it's no guarantee the Bills won't fall behind on the scoreboard early. Even before Peterman's meltdown last week, the Bills had the third-worst point differential -- minus-31 -- in the first quarter this season. The slow starts have made it harder for the Bills to establish the run and more difficult for McCoy to get into a rhythm that would boost his fantasy output.

The other angle to consider is how the Bills' No. 2 running back role has shifted. Cadet played well in his debut and is a more adept pass catcher than Mike Tolbert, who did not play last Sunday and did not practice Thursday because of a hamstring injury. That could mean Cadet stays in the No. 2 role against the Chiefs and takes some fantasy scoring opportunities away from McCoy in the passing game.

Chiefs' fantasy points per game allowed to running backs this season (PPR scoring): 21.3 (eighth-fewest in NFL)

Chiefs' fantasy points per game allowed to running backs this season (standard scoring): 17.5 (13th-fewest in NFL)
