GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Receiver Ty Montgomery did not sound too optimistic on Friday about his chances of playing Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Sure enough, the Green Bay Packers rookie was downgraded to doubtful after Saturday’s practice.
It means Montgomery likely will miss his third straight game because of the sprained left ankle he sustained on Oct. 18 against the San Diego Chargers.
On Friday, Montgomery revealed that his injury was so painful initially that he thought he broke his leg and said he still was not 100 percent.
The Packers defense got some good news on Saturday, when outside linebacker Mike Neal (hip) and cornerback Sam Shields (shoulder) were upgraded to probable.
There was no change in Eddie Lacy’s status. He remained questionable because of the groin injury that knocked him out of last Sunday’s loss at Carolina.
