GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers' quarterback appears to be feeling better, but one of his receivers may be getting worse.
Aaron Rodgers was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Thursday, one day after he was added to the injury report as a limited participant because of a sore shoulder, and looked like he had the usual zip on his fastball during the portion of the workout that was open to reporters.
However, receiver Ty Montgomery appears to have gone the other way. The rookie, who has not played since he sprained his left ankle a month ago, could not finish practice on Thursday.
Montgomery revealed after practice that the injury he sustained on Oct. 18 against the San Diego Chargers is a high-ankle sprain, which can take more than a month to heal.
“As I’m finding out, I guess,” Montgomery said.
Although Montgomery refused to call Thursday's development a setback, that he went from a full participant on Wednesday to limited on Thursday, when practice was conducted in full pads for the only time this week, may not bode well for his chances of playing Sunday at the Minnesota Vikings.
“It’s been pretty frustrating,” Montgomery said. “It just feels like it’s a guessing game on when it’s going to be ready, when it’s going to be time. I just have to listen to my body and be smart. My body is my job. If my body is not taken care of, I can’t perform.”
Including Rodgers and Montgomery, the Packers listed 15 players on their injury report. Two starting offensive linemen, tackle Bryan Bulaga (knee) and guard T.J. Lang (shoulder), who did not practice on Wednesday were in pads and participated on a limited basis.
