GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Yes, Vince Biegel practiced with a club on his left hand Saturday. But, no, the Green Bay Packers' fourth-round pick said he did not break any bones.
The outside linebacker from Wisconsin appears to have dodged anything major after he left the first practice of rookie camp on Friday after he sustained a hand injury.
Coach Mike McCarthy said Biegel practiced with a club on his hand, but it wasn’t anything like the massive cast that Packers outside linebacker Nick Perry played with for several weeks late last season when he broke his hand.
“This is just a little cast I had today,” Biegel said, pointing to the contraption in his locker that he wore for Saturday's workout. “So it wasn’t anything serious.”
Biegel said X-rays taken Friday did not show any broken bones, and he wasn't wearing any protection while he spoke in the locker room after practice.
“This was just a precaution,” he said.
The Packers wrapped up their rookie camp on Saturday. The rookies will return to Green Bay on May 22 for the start of OTAs. The veteran players will be here next week without the rookies.
