          Packers save on signing bonus money without first-round pick

          GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers' rookie contracts have been completed, and in the era of slotted salaries for draft picks, there aren’t many surprises.

          But the one thing that stands out about the Packers’ 10-player class is the lack of monster signing bonuses and guarantees. It’s the result of general manager Ted Thompson’s decision to trade out of the first round in April’s draft.

          Therefore, the highest signing bonus went to Kevin King, the 33rd overall pick who received $3,289,565 up front when he signed his four-year contract.

          Third-round pick Montravius Adams was the last of the Packers’ draft picks to sign.

          Here’s a contract breakdown for the Packers’ draft class:

          • Kevin King, CB, second round: Four years, $7,080,850. Signing bonus of $3,289,565. Base salaries of $465,000 (2017), $786,857 (2018), $1,108,714 (2019), $1,430,571 (2020).

          • Josh Jones, S, second round: Four years, $4,233,412. Signing bonus of $1,218,844. Base salaries of $465,000 (2017), $657,428 (2018), $849,856 (2019), $1,042,284 (2020).

          • Montravius Adams, DT, third round: Four years, $3,261,676. Signing bonus of $744,776. Base salaries of $465,000 (2017), $581,000 (2018), $671,000 (2019), $754,900 (2020).

          • Vince Biegel, OLB, fourth round: Four years, $3,093,748. Signing bonus of $693,748. Base salaries of $465,000 (2017), $555,000 (2018), $645,000 (2019), $735,000 (2020).

          • Jamaal Williams, RB, fourth round: Four years, $2,965,992. Signing bonus of $565,992. Base salaries of $465,000 (2017), $555,000 (2018), $645,000 (2019), $735,000 (2020).

          • DeAngelo Yancey, WR, fifth round: Four years, $2,623,908. Signing bonus of $223,908. Base salaries of $465,000 (2017), $555,000 (2018), $645,000 (2019), $735,000 (2020).

          • Aaron Jones, RB, fifth round: Four years, $2,601,948. Signing bonus of $201,948. Base salaries of $465,000 (2017), $555,000 (2018), $645,000 (2019), $735,000 (2020).

          • Kofi Amichia, G, sixth round: Four years, $2,531,476. Signing bonus of $131,476. Base salaries of $465,000 (2017), $555,000 (2018), $645,000 (2019), $735,000 (2020).

          • Devante Mays, RB, seventh round: Four years, $2,475,044. Signing bonus of $75,044. Base salaries of $465,000 (2017), $555,000 (2018), $645,000 (2019), $735,000 (2020).
