After absorbing spike, Patriots' Johnson Bademosi jokes about visiting chiropractor

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots cornerback and core special-teamer Johnson Bademosi appreciates your concern. With a smile.

Bademosi was a popular player for reporters to approach in the locker room after Sunday's season-ending victory over the New York Jets because of what unfolded along the Patriots' sideline in the third quarter.

When Jets receiver Robby Anderson caught a pass but couldn't keep his feet in the field of play, with his momentum carrying him into the Patriots' sideline, Bademosi walked toward him. In doing so he put himself in harm's way, as Anderson spiked the ball into the ground and it bounced into Bademosi's face mask.

After a slight delay, Bademosi fell to the ground in a heap, perhaps trying to buy a call from the officials. Players were laughing in the locker room after the game as they watched replays of Bademosi's extreme reaction.

Bademosi was having fun with it himself after the game, saying, "I'm all right. I got hit by the ball a little bit, but I'm doing OK. I think I'll be all right. I just got adjusted by the chiropractor."

Told it was a very sudden reaction, he played along.

"That's kind of subjective," he replied. "Some people think it was kind of sudden. Some people think there was a delay. These things kind of happen sometimes."

Bademosi explained that he was walking toward Anderson because, "We were on our sideline and we were getting our adjustments."

Then told that some were having fun with it on social media, he flashed another smile.

"Oh, good. Fun. A little fun is good; it's the holidays," he said.
