It wasn't the farewell New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees envisioned -- if, in fact, the NFC divisional game Sunday was his final game -- but the future Hall of Famer did get to share a tender moment with his family on the field at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome after the game. And joining them was Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
Brady and Brees hugged. As did Brady and Brees' wife, Brittany, while Brees' sons Baylen, Bowen and Callen, tossed around a football and daughter Rylen turned cartwheels. Brady even threw a touchdown pass to Baylen. Brady then fist-bumped Callen as he departed, telling him, "Be nice to your sister."
Brady said of Brees earlier in the week, "I just think so much of him as a person and as a player. I know what it takes to do what he’s doing, [and] he knows what it takes to do what I’m doing. I think there’s just a lot of mutual respect.”
