Haney takes down Kambosos to become undisputed lightweight champ (1:40)

Devin Haney wins the undisputed boxing lightweight championship vs. George Kambosos Jr. in front of thousands of Australian fans. (1:40)

Undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney will face George Kambosos Jr. this weekend in a rematch of their bout in June that Haney won by unanimous decision to secure all four belts.

The rematch, like the first fight, will be contested in Melbourne, Australia -- Haney's home country -- on Saturday (ESPN, 10:30 p.m. ET, with prelims at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+).

In the past two years, Haney (28-0, 15 KOs), 23, of San Francisco, has beaten Yuriorkis Gamboa, Jorge Linares, Joseph "JoJo" Diaz and Kambosos. He was recently named the best fighter under the age of 25 by ESPN.

"I'm expecting a hungry and determined Kambosos [in the rematch]," Haney said during a news conference in August to announce the fight. "I will be prepared for any adjustment he brings. This is a great opportunity to gain more Aussie fans and add to my legacy."

Kambosos (20-1, 10 KOs), 29, of Sydney, scored a big upset with a split decision victory over Teofimo Lopez Jr. in November 2021. He was scheduled to face Vasiliy Lomachenko last June, but Lomachenko decided to remain at home in Ukraine with his family during the Russian war and Haney took advantage of his opportunity.

"I am looking forward to [the fight]," Kambosos said. "And that's where I will do my talking. Inside the ring."
