Devin Bush Jr. picks Michigan over father's alma mater, Florida State

ESPN 300 linebacker Devin Bush Jr. has committed to Michigan over Auburn and Florida State. The No. 181 ranked prospect overall chose the Wolverines at his high school on Wednesday, giving Michigan eight ESPN 300 commitments.

Bush Jr.'s decision is an especially big commitment for Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, since the talented linebacker chose the Wolverines over his father, Devin Bush Sr.'s, alma mater. Bush Sr. was a standout player for Florida State in the early '90s and is the head coach of his son's high school football team at Flanagan high.

If Harbaugh has proved anything in his short time with Michigan, it's that he is creative with his recruiting tactics. From using Texas-shaped cakes to help entice defensive lineman Jordan Elliott to having rappers on campus to talk to the team, Harbaugh also brought Bush Sr. in to be a guest speaker at Michigan's high school summer camp in June.

Establishing relationships with parents is always a good idea in recruiting, and it also didn't hurt that the Wolverines have commitments from Devin Gil and Joshua Metellus, teammates of Bush Jr.

The commitment gives the Wolverines 22 total commits in the 2016 class, which currently sits at No. 9 overall.
