Fantasy baseball's Week 7 brings us the first of two traditional -- read: on the original schedule -- doubleheaders. The Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics play a four-game, week-opening series that concludes with a Wednesday doubleheader. Fantasy managers of Rangers hitters will be thrilled to learn that the Rangers then travel to Colorado to play a three-game series at Coors Field.
A trio of two-game, week-opening interleague series involving East Division teams -- the Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals, and Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays -- leads to a larger volume of five-game weeks. The Braves, Orioles, Red Sox, Blue Jays and Nationals are included among that group, with the Phillies exempt only in that they have a sixth game, which is Monday's weekend-wraparound San Francisco Giants series finale.
This could be a significant week on the pitcher injury recovery front, as the Los Angeles Dodgers' Walker Buehler, Red Sox's Nick Pivetta, Cubs' Justin Steele, Cincinnati Reds' Frankie Montas, Houston Astros' Cristian Javier and Seattle Mariners' Bryan Woo are all on track to rejoin their respective rotations at some point during Week 7.
