TOP STORY: Man United eye move for Watford star Sarr
Manchester United have not yet given up on Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, sources told ESPN's Rob Dawson on Monday, but the Daily Telegraph reports they are looking at a backup option in the form of Watford star Ismaila Sarr.
Sarr, 22, was linked with a £40m move to Liverpool earlier in the transfer window before the Reds spent £41m to sign Wolves forward Diogo Jota instead.
Now United are reportedly keen on the Senegal international, who is looking for a new club after suffering relegation with Watford only a year after joining them from Rennes for around £30m.
Sarr scored five Premier League goals last season and can play anywhere across the front line.

The 19-year-old is set to replace Nelson Semedo and join Barcelona for €25 million, after spurning Champions League winners Bayern Munich.
22.16 BST: Shifting across Manchester, United could be close to finding a spot to offload Diogo Dalot.
Sky Sports and Sky Sport Italia understand that AC Milan are interested in taking the Portuguese full-back on loan. The reports add that United would preferred to sell Dalot on a permanent basis, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and even Brandon Williams all preferred to Dalot on the right.
Dalot is reportedly "unhappy" at Old Trafford and United would love to sell him and raise funds to put towards a new winger such as Jason Sancho or Ismaila Sarr.

The 23-year-old arrives from Benfica for a club-record €68 million plus add-ons, while Benfica will sign Nicolas Otamendi in a separate deal worth €15m. Dias, who made 137 appearances for Benfica, won the Nations League with Portugal in 2019 and arrives just two days after Man City's 5-2 defeat to Leicester City.
Man City signed Nathan Ake from Bournemouth earlier this summer but the defence remains a work in progress, as Sunday's result showed.
21.02 BST: Southampton could be close to adding a Dutch midfielder, according to reports.
Voetbal International claims that Saints recently scouted Heerenveen midfielder Joey Veerman and have "expressed in interest" in signing him. The 21-year-old factored in on nine goals during his debut Eredivisie season and has already struck twice in three games during the infant campaign.
20.31 BST: One from earlier... Watford have signed William Troost-Ekong from sister club Udinese.
The Nigerian centre-back, 27, is the latest in a long of players to transfer between the two clubs, which are both owned by the Pozzo family. Watford have also signed 17-year-old Guinea youth international striker Djibril Toure from Ceffomig FC on a five-and-a-half-year deal.
20.14 BST: Leicester's persistence has paid off as Saint-Etienne have finally agreed to sell the Foxes defender Wesley Fofana.
Leicester will pay up to £36.5m for the 19-year-old centre-back, who was also linked with a move to West Ham. The France Under-19 international represents a record sale for Saint-Etienne, who last season sold centre-back William Saliba to Arsenal £27 million.
19.33 BST: Borussia Dortmund have rejected a £91 million offer from Man United for Jadon Sancho, Sky Sports has learned.
Dortmund are holding out for £108m for the 20-year-old winger, who remains Man United's No. 1 target. Man United have until Oct. 5 to try and prise the England man away for Dortmund, but Marco Reus told Sky Germany that Sancho will stay on for one more season.
19.11 BST: Tottenham have yet to bring in a striker this window but Portuguese television station TVI24 claims they are one of three Premier League clubs circling for Benfica's Carlos Vinicius.
The 25-year-old, who scored 18 league goals last season, is valued at £46 million by Benfica, a fee Spurs, Leicester and Crystal Palace are all hesitant to pay. Arkadiusz Milik and Josh King are two other forwards Tottenham are reportedly considering.
18.29 BST: West Ham have made a surprising bid for centre-back Nikola Maksimovic, talkSport understands.
"Nikola Maksimovic is the man David Moyes now seems to be hanging his hat on," talkSPORT's transfer insider Alex Crook said on Tuesday.
"Sources over in Italy are suggesting they've made an opening bid of £14m. That may well be enough, because he's out of contract at the end of the season and has refused a new deal.
"I know that Fulham have also been linked and I think this is West Ham trying to steal a march on another London club.
"He's a real powerhouse defender, Serbian, 6ft 4in, and he's been compared to Nemanja Vidic, and he's what West Ham need.
High praise indeed for Maksimovic, who is viewed as an alternative to more expensive Burnley and England man James Tarkowski.
17.58 BST: Man United's Andreas Pereira looks set for a move to Italy.
Multiple outlets are reporting that United have agreed to loan Pereira to Lazio, with the Roman club having the option to buy Pereira outright next summer for €27 million. Once one of United's highest-rated youngsters, the 24-year-old Pereira has never hit top gear at Old Trafford, despite encouraging loan spells at Granada and Valencia.
The clubs are set to split Pereira's wages, while United have also inserted a 10% sell-on clause.
17.23 BST: Would Antonio Rudiger and Jose Mourinho work well together at Tottenham?
16.50 BST: AS reports that Manchester United have entered the race to sign free agent Edinson Cavani, but could also turn to Real Madrid's Luka Jovic on loan in a bid to add depth to their strikeforce.
Cavani, 33, left PSG this summer after his contract ran out and has been linked primarily with Atletico Madrid and Benfica. His wage demands have reportedly scuppered negotiations with a number of clubs but United are evidently talking with his brother and agent about a possible deal.
Meanwhile Jovic has struggled in Madrid since making a €60m move from Eintracht Frankfurt last year and is keen to get some more game time. Roma, Inter Milan and AC Milan have all been linked with the Serbia international.
United already have Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Odion Ighalo and Mason Greenwood as options up front, but another striker could be on the agenda despite the club's issues in defence already this season.
16.29 BST: Arsenal and Lyon have continued talks for the transfer of French midfielder Houssem Aouar but no agreement has been reached, sources told ESPN's Julien Laurens.
Arsenal's first offer of €35m was rejected by Lyon on Friday but the two clubs are currently negotiating a fee for the 22-year-old midfielder.
The French side value him at €60m but are ready to accept around €45m with bonuses. The London club are ready to increase their offer and are optimistic an agreement can be reached.
16.08 BST: AC Milan are set to complete the €5m signing of Bodo/Glimt player Jens Petter Hauge, says Fabrizio Romano.
Hauge, 20, is a highly rated young Norwegian winger and is set to put pen to paper on a deal until June 2025.
15.51 BST: Corriere della Sera reports that Juventus are in talks with Fiorentina over the £45m signing of Federico Chiesa.
Chiesa, 22, is the son of the legendary Italy striker Enrico and has been linked with a move to Turin for some time.
15.40 BST: Inter Miami FC and Gonzalo Higuain seemed like a match made in heaven. He'll need some time though.
15.11 BST: Bayern Munich want a new right-back and are interested in Brighton's Tariq Lamptey, says Sport1.
Brighton reportedly want €25m, but Bayern are only willing to pay €15m for the former Chelsea academy star.
14.57 BST: Chelsea are willing to let Antonio Rudiger leave the club before Monday's transfer deadline but would prefer to sell him to an overseas club amid interest from Tottenham, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.
Rudiger, 27, has held talks with head coach Frank Lampard over his future in recent days after not featuring in any of the Blues matches so far this season. The Germany international's sudden omission after making 26 appearances last season -- including starting August's FA Cup Final defeat to Arsenal -- is said to have surprised the centre-back and his representatives.
He has consequently sought assurances over his role in the team and while Lampard is not actively forcing him out of the club, Chelsea have a bloated squad and need to recoup some of the £220m outlay on seven summer signings.
Paris Saint-Germain have expressed an interest in taking Rudiger on loan, but the Blues want a straight sale given he has two years left on his existing contract and they value him at around £20m.
Spurs have not made a formal approach but they are monitoring the situation in case no agreement is reached with Inter Milan for their preferred target Milan Skriniar.
14.14 BST: What do Europe's top clubs need before the deadline closes on Oct. 5? Including:

13.53 BST: Real Madrid haven't done any business this summer at all.
Zinedine Zidane was asked about that at a news conference and replied: "What I have is this squad. And for me, I always have the best. At Madrid it's always like that. Until Oct. 5 the market is open, but I'm really happy with what I have... We already have a lot of players. And you want to bring in more? Why? It's already a problem to pick a team because they're all really good. I'm happy. Really."
Specifically asked about his four strikers -- Karim Benzema, Luka Jovic, Mariano Diaz and Borja Mayoral -- once again, he was non-committal.
"Until the 5th, while the market is open, we'll see," he said. "The only thing I'll say is the players who are here are fine, training well, that's what interests me."
Aaaaaand asked about rumours the club could sign Wolves striker Raul Jimenez ... yes, you guessed it ... he replied: "We have this squad. I don't know what's happening elsewhere. A lot of things are said. To answer clearly, no, I don't know."
13.21 BST: Should LA Galaxy look to move on Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez?
12.45 BST: ICYMI - Al-Nasr have signed midfielder Dia Saba from Chinese Super League club Guangzhou R&F on a two-year deal, becoming the first Arab club to sign a player from Israel.
The move comes less than two weeks after the United Arab Emirates normalised relations with Israel.
"Al-Nasr has completed the procedures with Dia Saba ... in a contract that extends for two seasons after he successfully passed medical examinations this morning," the U.A.E. Pro League club said in a statement.
Saba, who is of Palestinian origin, was born in Israel and began his professional career with Beitar Nes Tubruk.
12.38 BST: Sky Italia says that AC Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta is set to move to Lyon.
The 23-year-old would be a replacement for Houssem Aouar, who looks likely to move to Arsenal before the transfer window closes next week.
12.27 BST: Il Messaggero have another update for us about Tottenham's chase for a centre-back.
Given the club aren't overly keen about spending €60m on Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar, they are looking at AS Roma's Roger Ibanez instead.
Ibanez was signed for €10m after a successful loan spell from Atalanta in January but Spurs reportedly made a €25m bid to try and lure him away.
12.01 BST: Best friend and former mentor Jurgen Klopp helped to shape him as a coach, but Schalke's David Wagner didn't last long at the club.
11.17 BST: Tottenham are looking at signing Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger if he becomes available, says Sky Sports.
Chelsea have Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Fikayo Tomori and Thiago Silva at centre-back, so Rudiger has fallen down the pecking order.
The 27-year-old is keen to depart, though Chelsea are reportedly unwilling to send him on loan to a Premier League rival.
Tottenham are also interested in signing Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar but the Serie A club are holding out for a fee of €60m, sources have told ESPN.
10.58 BST: Real Madrid are looking to move on at least one forward this week, with Luka Jovic, Borja Mayoral and Mariano Diaz all in the squad -- and Diario AS claim the club would prefer to send Jovic on loan, and keep Mayoral as back-up for Karim Benzema.
Jovic failed to impress starting alongside Benzema in Madrid's 3-2 win at Real Betis on Saturday, with Mayoral replacing him off the bench.
According to AS, one of the two will go, with Italy's Roma, Inter and Milan possible destinations, as Madrid believe a spell for Jovic in Serie A "would mean the Serbian maturing and improving with more minutes."
Mayoral would then be Zinedine Zidane's second-choice striker -- with Diaz out of favour having refused to leave, and accept a pay cut, during this transfer window.
10.33 BST: L'Equipe reports that Leicester City have made an offer of €35m up front and €5m in add-ons for Saint-Etienne defender Wesley Fofana.
Fofana, 19, is highly rated and ironically his coach in France is former Leicester manager Claude Puel.
Leicester have used Wilfred Ndidi as an emergency centre-back in their opening two Premier League games as they have suffered an injury crisis in defence. The Foxes had been chasing Burnley's James Tarkowski but have been unable to strike a deal.
10.11 BST: West Brom have re-signed Croatian midfielder Filip Krovinovic on a season-long loan from Benfica.
10.05 BST: Manchester City are spending £63m on Benfica defender Ruben Dias, but he'll need time to adjust.
09.40 BST: Next summer, in-demand defender Dayot Upamecano can reportedly leave RB Leipzig for a release clause of €42m and there is little hope at the club that he will stay.
To brace for Upamecano's potential exit, Leipzig have announced the signing of Dinamo Zagreb defender Josko Gvardiol to a five-year deal.
The 18-year-old will join the Bundesliga side for a fee in the region of €16m, kicker reported, and heads back on loan to Croatia. The deal also includes several bonus payments and the option to bring him to Leipzig in January "if extraordinary circumstances" require it.
08.55 BST: Atletico Madrid's president Enrique Cerezo has said he believes Diego Costa will stay at the club this season.
Costa has a year left on his contract and suggested he was open to a move after scoring in Atletico's 6-1 La Liga win over Granada on Sunday, saying: "I've allowed the club to decide my future."
The striker has been linked with a departure to make room for long-term Atletico target Edinson Cavani, who is a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, while Luis Suarez has also arrived from Barcelona this summer..
"Yes, I think Diego Costa [will stay]," Cerezo told Cadena COPE on Monday. "We don't have to complicate things. Let's see how this week ends, but if I had to bet, I'd say nothing will change."

08.26 BST: Manchester United are refusing to give up in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho with just a week to go before the end of the transfer window, sources have told ESPN's Rob Dawson.
Borussia Dortmund insist privately Sancho will not leave this summer and will remain at the club for at least another year.
But according to ESPN sources, that message has not been relayed directly to United officials, prompting hope an agreement can still be reached before the Oct. 5 deadline. United have an agreement in principle with Sancho's representatives over wages and agent fees but have made little progress in talking down Dortmund's €120 million asking price.
United believe the 20-year-old's price tag is "unrealistic" during the financial uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic but are willing to agree a structured deal that would include a series of performance-related bonuses.
Dortmund would prefer the bulk of the fee up front and have concerns about add-ons -- particularly those relating to participation in the Champions League -- after United missed out on a place in the competition altogether three times since 2013.
08.00 BST: Frank Lampard has said goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga still has a future at Chelsea and rounded on the Spain international's critics.
Kepa, 25, is facing a fight to save his career in west London after being dropped from the starting lineup in favour of 39-year-old Willy Caballero. There's also fresh competition for places following Edouard Mendy's arrival from Rennes for a fee in the region of £20m.
Mendy could make his debut in Tuesday night's Carabao Cup fourth round clash at Tottenham Hotspur as Kepa is linked with a loan move away from the club, having joined Chelsea as the world's most expensive goalkeeper in 2018 after arriving from Athletic Bilbao for £71.4m.
"I certainly won't go to the point of [saying] he's played his last game for Chelsea," Lampard said. "I think it has been a difficult time for Kepa. That's been well documented. I know it, he knows it, but we certainly shouldn't jump to that conclusion.
"Also, [something] which I felt quite strongly about in the last week, is to understand that Kepa is a young man and an awful lot of the highlight or spotlight on him has become slightly unfair.
"I have to protect him because I know he is a good lad and playing with absolute professionalism and intent to do the best he can, as all the squad have done. That's all I want to say about him now."

Manchester United have made an initial bid to try and sign Porto sensation Alex Telles, The Guardian reports.
In an update from A Bola's earlier report, United value him at around £12m, predominantly because they should be able to sign the full-back for free on a precontract during the January window.
His stint with Porto is set to come to an end next summer, which is why they still have him priced at around £18m, but United are still hopeful that they can get a bid done closer to their own valuation before the Oct. 5 deadline hits.
Zinchenko offered to Barcelona?
Mundo Deportivo is reporting Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has been offered to Barcelona.
The 23-year-old signed a new contract last year that was intended to keep him at the Etihad until 2024. However, it now seems as if that might not be the case, although Barca have yet to enter official negotiations with City over the signing.
Zinchenko is believed to be a target for Ronald Koeman, and that interest will grow if they're able to move Juan Miranda or Junior Firpo on during the summer transfer window.
Bayern to move for Aarons
Bayern Munich have been in the hunt for a new right-back but sources have told ESPN that Ajax's Sergino Dest is set to snub them in favour of Barcelona.
The Daily Mail reports that Norwich City's Max Aarons is their backup target, with the 20-year-old available for around £20m.
Roma and AC Milan have also been tracking Aarons, though are also keen on Tottenham's Serge Aurier.

- Sheffield United have made a new bid of around £17m to try and sign Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, The Sun reports. Chris Wilder is going after a goalscorer as the Blades continue to struggle in the first few games of the new Premier League season. The proposed offer allows for Liverpool to insert a buy-back clause of £40m; whereas Crystal Palace, who also have their eye on Brewster, will not agree to such an offer. The starlet is intrigued by a move to London but could be swayed by this latest development.
- Fulham have entered themselves into the mix to try to sign Jean-Clair Tobido from Barcelona, Fabrizio Romano reports. The young defender has been at the heart of great speculation over his future with Everton reportedly being the front-runners for his signature, but after the Cottagers' potential move for Marlon fell through, they are shifting their attention over to Tobido.
- Serie A side Torino have opened talks with Bournemouth over the signing of Joshua King, Fabrizio Romano reports. The striker's departure from the Vitality Stadium has been expected ever since the club's relegation from the Premier League was confirmed, and now, Romano is noting that negotiations between the two parties have begun prior to a deal being agreed.
