The Tennessee Titans announced Friday that receiver Adam Humphries and practice squad receiver Cameron Batson were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Officials from the NFL and the NFL Players Association are in Nashville to check into the spread of the coronavirus on the team, sources told ESPN, confirming a report by NFL Network.
Humphries has played 111 snaps (52.0%) on offense for the Titans this season. Tennessee has used Humphries primarily as a slot receiver. He has 15 receptions (tied for the team lead) for 136 yards and a touchdown.
Batson started the season on the Titans' practice squad. But he has been shuffled back and forth from the active roster via the two extra roster spots that teams are able to use due to Covid-19. Batson had two receptions for 26 yards and 11 rushing yards in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Batson was also active in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings. He has played 76 snaps (36.2%) for the Titans on offense.
Four players -- starting nose tackle DaQuan Jones, linebacker Kamalei Correa, long-snapper Beau Brinkley and practice squad tight end Tommy Hudson -- and five team personnel members tested positive earlier this week. On Thursday, the NFL announced that one additional Titans player and one additional personnel member tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Titans placed cornerback Kristian Fulton on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.
That brings the total to a combined 13 players and team personnel who have tested positive for the Titans this week.
Defensive back Greg Mabin was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Sept. 24 and offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson went on the list Sept. 6.
Coach Mike Vrabel said Wednesday that some of the players who tested positive were experiencing flu-like symptoms.
On Thursday, the NFL announced that the Titans' game with the Pittsburgh Steelers would not be played during Week 4 after the additional positive coronavirus tests on the Tennessee team. The Titans will now play the Steelers in Week 7 on Oct. 25, the league said Friday. The Steelers were originally scheduled to play a road game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7 but will now play that game in Week 8.
