TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals didn't have to look far to build their practice squad this year.

Eight of the 10 players they signed were players they released during final cuts on Saturday, including linebacker Scooby Wright, who played well enough during minicamp, OTAs, training camp and the preseason that he was expected to make the roster.

He could find his way onto the 53-man roster if injuries impact special teams this season. During the preseason he showed a toughness and fearlessness that could translate into him being a productive special teamer for the Cards.

Here's a look at the Cardinals' practice squad:

  • WR Carlton Agudosi: He's an undrafted free agent who stood out during training camp because of his size. He's 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds, and showed during camp that with a little grooming he can be a factor for an offense.

  • G Dorian Johnson: He was the Cardinals' fourth-round pick this year but was drafted for the future. Unfortunately for Johnson, the future isn't now. He still needs time to grow into his position.

  • CB Ryan Lewis: He'll be given a chance to develop on the practice squad, but with the type of depth Arizona has at cornerback, it could be tough for Lewis to crack the rotation.

  • S/CB Harlan Miller: If an injury happens to anyone in the secondary, the Cardinals could be quick to promote Miller. He started the final two games at free safety last season and is versatile enough to play two positions.

  • TE Ricky Seals-Jones: He's an insurance policy for Troy Niklas, who's been plagued by injuries during the past couple of seasons.

  • RB James Summers: He's a big, bruising back at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, who could be an option if Eli Penny doesn't pan out.

  • DT Pasoni Tasini: If an injury hits the defensive line, which is only seven players deep, Tasini might not be the first option to fill in.

  • LB Scooby Wright: Him getting cut was a bit of a surprise, but if any major injuries happen on special teams don't be surprised if Wright gets a quick promotion.

  • OLB Bryson Albright: He had a strong preseason and could provide temporary depth should injuries arise.

  • OLB Obum Gwacham: He's played in 10 games over the past two seasons with the New Orleans Saints and registered four tackles, 2.5 sacks and one fumble recovery. He's an intriguing prospect because of his length at 6-foot-5 and 246 pounds.
