Broncos' 53-man roster projection has both Ronnie Hillman, Juwan Thompson

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – The Denver Broncos wrapped their offseason program on Thursday and will have their first full training camp practice July 28 in Englewood, Colo. Here’s a 53-man roster projection:

QUARTERBACKS (3): Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch

Sanchez and Siemian will battle to be the starter in camp and Lynch, the first-round pick, isn’t going anywhere. Because there are just three on the roster, they will all get plenty of work in the summer sun.

RUNNING BACKS (4): C.J. Anderson, Devontae Booker, Ronnie Hillman, Juwan Thompson

In the end, because Thompson can also play fullback, it could cost Hillman a roster spot if the Broncos think they need a little more help elsewhere on the depth chart or if Bibbs continues to show he has elevated his game enough to make this roster this time around.

FULLBACK (1): Andy Janovich

The Broncos wanted Janovich badly enough to have used a sixth-round pick to get him in this year’s draft and he already projects to play a full slate of special-teams positions. That’s a guy who is going to be part of things.

WIDE RECEIVERS (5): Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Cody Latimer, Bennie Fowler, Jordan Norwood

The Broncos could keep a sixth player at this position if a player like Addison or Raymond shows enough in the return game to grab a spot or Taylor just makes it too difficult to put him on the practice squad again. And that’s another scenario that would cost a running back a spot.

TIGHT ENDS (3): Virgil Green, Jeff Heuerman, Garrett Graham

It would be more than a little surprise for another player to crack this lineup after Green, Heuerman and Graham, especially with the Broncos so intent on keeping at least one, and possibly two, players who can line up at fullback.

OFFENSIVE LINE (9): Russell Okung, Ty Sambrailo, Matt Paradis, Max Garcia, Donald Stephenson, Michael Schofield, James Ferentz, Connor McGovern, Robert Myers Jr

The Broncos have several practice-squad candidates here, including Day, who could also battle for one of the final roster spots on the depth chart. Sambrailo will start at guard but could also be a swing tackle as well.

DEFENSIVE LINE (7): Derek Wolfe, Jared Crick, Vance Walker, Adam Gotsis, Sylvester Williams, Phil Taylor, Darius Kilgo

The Broncos could easily decide to go six at this position --- that's what they did last season -- and keep an extra linebacker, but it’s going to be hard to decide between Williams, Taylor and Kilgo in the middle when they find “the best 53" players on the roster. If Anunike’s knee comes around, he could push for a spot as well.

LINEBACKERS (8): Von Miller, Brandon Marshall, DeMarcus Ware, Todd Davis, Corey Nelson, Shaquil Barrett, Shane Ray, Dekoda Watson

The Broncos kept nine linebackers to open the season in 2015, but this year’s roster shakes out a little differently. And it could look also vastly different here if Miller doesn’t reach a long-term deal with the team and elects to hold out to open the season.

DEFENSIVE BACKS (10): Chris Harris Jr., Aqib Talib, T.J. Ward, Darian Stewart, Bradley Roby, Kayvon Webster, Lorenzo Doss, Taurean Nixon, Justin Simmons, Shiloh Keo

Parks could make a push to make the roster if the Broncos don’t finish camp with any nervousness about the idea that both backup safeties would be rookies. And the overall look could be different as well if Talib doesn’t recover as quickly as expected from an offseason gunshot wound or he faces some kind of league discipline from the incident.

SPECIALISTS (3): PK Brandon McManus, P Riley Dixon, LS Casey Kreiter

Britton Colquitt’s experience could still win him a job, but the Broncos used a draft pick on Dixon and Colquitt’s salary cap figure of $4 million matters to a team looking for every bit of room against the cap right now. Kreiter looked more consistent in early workouts, but that job is still in play as well.
