@ESPNdirocco: I asked that question in the locker room early last season after Josh Scobee was traded, and I was told that receiver Bryan Walters was probably the best golfer remaining, so I'll go with him right now. I don't know the kind of game any of the free-agent signees or draft picks have, though. I do know that it's not quarterback Blake Bortles, who joked while at The Players Championship this week that his goal was just to finish in the middle of the pack at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, in July. He finished 89th in his first appearance in the tournament in 2015, edging out Charles Barkley and Kim Alexis. Bortles shot 97, 104 and 99 in his three rounds and finished the Stableford format event at -64. Barkley finished at -96 and Alexis at -98.

@ESPNdirocco: You're right to be concerned, because there isn't anyone behind Tashaun Gipson who can play as a single-high safety the way he can, and that's the key to coach Gus Bradley's defense. Right now I'd put Josh Evans as the No. 2 free safety, but James Sample was going to be getting first-team reps over Sergio Brown before he suffered a fractured arm last spring. He could be a possibility if he does not win the competition with Johnathan Cyprien to be the starting strong safety. As for Jalen Ramsey, defensive coordinator Todd Wash said the team likes to start rookies at one spot and let them become comfortable there before moving them around. The Jaguars view Ramsey as a cornerback, and that's where he's going to start and stay for a while.

@ESPNdirocco: The Jaguars added five defensive linemen via free agency and the draft -- tackle Malik Jackson, end Yannick Ngakoue, tackle Sheldon Day, end Tyrone Holmes, and end Jonathan Woodard -- and signed former Indianapolis first-round pick Bjoern Werner this week. That gives the Jaguars 15 defensive linemen heading into camp. If we go on the premise that the Jaguars will keep 11, that means four have to go. My way-to-early guess would be Werner, Chris Smith and Richard Ash are the veterans most likely to go. They aren't big names, but I don't think the Jaguars will be parting ways with Roy Miller, Sen'Derrick Marks, Jared Odrick or Tyson Alualu.
