Jalen Richard, DeAndre Washington picked up slack for ejected Marshawn Lynch

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- A ruling on Marshawn Lynch's appeal of a one-game suspension for making contact with an official in the Oakland Raiders' game Thursday will be issued Tuesday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

And Raiders coach Jack Del Rio is looking forward to knowing if Lynch will be available for this Sunday's game at the Buffalo Bills as soon as possible.

"Would be the fairest thing," Del Rio said Monday in his weekly media conference, "so the team can prepare."

Lynch was ejected after bumping and then grabbing the jersey of line judge Julian Mapp after running on to the field from the sideline to protect Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters, who had just been flagged for a late hit on Oakland quarterback Derek Carr.

Peters and Lynch are extremely close -- they refer to each other as cousins -- and Raiders offensive linemen Donald Penn, Kelechi Osemele and Gabe Jackson were going after Peters, hence Lynch's participation.

Del Rio said he has yet to speak with Lynch regarding the incident.

"I said the other night I was disappointed that we had a player leave the bench," Del Rio said.

"Don't leave the bench area."

Lynch was ejected with more than six minutes to play before halftime.

Second-year backs Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington picked up the slack in Lynch's absence during the Raiders' eventual 31-30 last-second victory.

"Those two guys have a lot of heart, a lot of quickness," Del Rio said. "They were hungry for the opportunity and took full advantage out there. Nice job for us."

Lynch had 9 yards rushing on two carries when he was ejected. Washington led the Raiders with 33 yards on nine carries, including a tough 4-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, while Richard rushed for 31 yards on eight attempts.

"We went out there and just executed our plays at the end of the game," Richard said following the victory. "It's one of those games that gives you goosebumps, man. ... We just believed throughout this whole game, fighting back to get this win against K.C., and it's a division game, too. It's big right now for us."

Richard also caught four passes for 45 yards and Washington had three catches for 7 yards. They are both 5-foot-8 and under 210 pounds, while Lynch is 5-11, 215 pounds.

"They don't have the size and the power [of Lynch], but they have a little more quickness, they catch the ball a little easier, better route runners, things like that," Del Rio said. "So, if you're playing a little more wide-open, in some respects they give you a little more juice. Marshawn gives you the power back when you want to finish people in tough situations.

"But those guys give you more than a change of pace."
