LUXEMBOURG -- The Luxembourg Boxing Federation says it has started legal action to prevent the British boxing authority from "intimidating" its members over involvement in the David Haye-Dereck Chisora heavyweight fight.
The Luxembourg body issued legal proceedings Wednesday after the British Boxing Board of Control threatened to rescind the licenses of members involved in the bout scheduled for next Saturday in east London. The LBF said it was left with "no option."
Haye and Chisora infamously traded blows at a press conference following Chisora's loss to Vitali Klitschko in Munich in February, leading to the BBBC stripping Chisora of his license. Haye was unlicensed because he had retired.
The Luxembourg body sanctioned the fight after the BBBC refused to do so and says 28,000 tickets have been sold.
