Getting defensive

DeLand (Fla.) High School will take on Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and WatchESPN.com.

DeLand is led by senior running back Jojo Kemp, who's rated the nation's No. 30 running back by ESPN. Leading the charge trying to stop him will be Sandalwood senior defensive lineman and Alabama commit DeMarcus Walker, the No. 24 overall prospect in the ESPN 150, and standout junior linebacker Kain Daub.

SANDALWOOD (4-2)

Top Recruit
DE DeMarcus Walker, Class of 2013
The Alabama verbal commitment will have his work cut out for him on Thursday when he faces off against Kemp. Walker will also see time as a tight end and even as a fullback in short-yardage situations. According to Sandalwood head coach Adam Geis, the Saints defense revolves around the talented defensive lineman.

Other Top Recruits
LB Kain Daub, Class of 2014
The LSU commit recently transferred to Sandalwood from Ponte Vedra (Fla.) Nease. The ESPN Watch List linebacker has over 15 offers, including Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Miami, Florida State and Ohio State. With the disruptive Walker taking up blockers in front of him, look for Daub to have a big game. Daub said last week that he is still open to other schools despite his commitment to LSU.

S Malik Greaves, Class of 2013
The Vanderbilt commit, a four-star prospect, is the No. 15 safety in the country. Greaves also has offers from Wisconsin, USF, North Carolina and Duke.

DE Blake McClain, Class of 2014
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound defensive end prospect has early offers from North Carolina and West Virginia and is receiving interest from several other schools. While McClain might get overshadowed by Walker, his head coach thinks McClain might be more athletic overall.

QB Parker Boehme, Class of 2014
The Duke commitment has been very productive for the Saints. Heading into this week's game, he had tossed 16 touchdown passes with just two picks. Boehme also has offers in-state schools UCF and USF.

OL Donald Rocker Jr., Class of 2013
The FIU commitment also has offers from Arizona, Iowa State, Pittsburgh, Memphis and Marshall.

DELAND (4-3)

Top Recruit
RB Jojo Kemp, Class of 2013
Kemp is the workhorse for the Bulldogs. On the season, Kemp has rushed for 894 yards and 14 touchdowns on 168 carries. The four-star running back decommitted from USF earlier in the week and will take an official visit to West Virginia this weekend.

Other Top Recruits
WR Dantwaun O'Neal, Class of 2013
The uncommitted, three-star recruit has offers from FIU, Memphis, South Alabama and Middle Tennessee. At 6-2 and 195pounds O'Neal can be a mismatch for smaller defensive backs. Look for DeLand to try and exploit his size in the red zone.

ILB Lincoln Stewart, Class of 2013
Stewart, a two-star prospect, has only one offer -- from Memphis. The physical linebacker is the leader of the Bulldogs defense and will look to limit what Sandalwood does offensively.
