Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome looking for better targets for Joe Flacco

Ozzie Newsome's biggest project in his final season as the Baltimore Ravens general manager is revamping the wide receiver group.

The Ravens could decide not to re-sign Mike Wallace in free agency as well as cut Jeremy Maclin after the passing attack finished 29th in the NFL in passing last season. Baltimore is also considered a possible trade partner for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

"We're looking for the opportunity to change that room in terms of personnel and the people that's in that room," Newsome said Friday at the NFL combine. "We're going to leave no stones unturned."

The Ravens' wide receivers totaled the fourth-fewest receiving yards last season with 3,235 yards. In the final year of his contract with the Ravens, Wallace was held under 1,000 yards receiving for the fifth time in the past six seasons. Maclin produced a career-worst 440 yards receiving on 40 catches, and Baltimore can create $5 million in cap space by cutting him.

Newsome was noncommittal when asked whether Maclin would be with the Ravens in 2018.

"We have some decisions we have to make over the next two weeks," Newsome said. "We have not come to a point where we have just decided that this guy is going to be here and this guy is not."

There are also no guarantees that Breshad Perriman will be part of the wide receiver group this season. Perriman, a first-round pick in 2015, was the worst-ranked wide receiver in the league last season by Pro Football Focus last season after making 10 receptions for 77 yards.

Perriman, who is in the final year of his rookie deal, will participate in offseason workouts. He'll need to prove himself to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

"He knows it's his opportunity to make or break being a part of the Ravens," Newsome said.
