Dual Brownlow medalist Gary Ablett will be given until the 11th hour to prove his fitness, but the former Gold Coast skipper appears likely to delay his 300th match another week.
Ablett suffered a calf injury during a light training session last Friday morning on the eve of his milestone match. Club officials are considering prolonging Ablett's recovery period to ensure the 33-year-old can play out the remainder of the year.
ESPN has been told the Suns' medical staff last week considered the injury, usually associated with older athletes, to be a one- to two-week layoff.
