Tuesday, September 1

Hawthorn vs. Adelaide, 5.40pm, Adelaide Oval (AEST)

Team news: Ben Stratton, James Frawley, Jarman Impey, Mitch Lewis and Shaun Burgoyne come in for the Hawks, while Jonathon Patton will miss with injury along with Liam Shiels, Michael Hartley, Sam Frost and Will Day. For the Crows, Brad Crouch, Daniel Talia come in for Ben Crocker and Jordon Butts.

Prediction: Could this be Adelaide's first win of 2020? A quick look at their remaining games shows this might be their last chance to secure four points and avoid the dreaded winless season. Still, the Hawks played well for a half last week and won't be easybeats, even on Adelaide's home deck.

Tip: Hawks by 9 points.

Score: Hawks 7.6 (48) def. by Crows 12.11 (83)

West Coast vs. Essendon, Gabba, 8.10pm (AEST)

Team news: The Eagles will be forced to experiment with their forward line, with Josh Kennedy (concussion) officially ruled out of the Gabba clash. Jarrod Brander, Nic Reid and Jamie Cripps also make way for Jack Redden, Jackson Nelson, Lewis Jetta and Oscar Allen. The Bombers have also been given a boost with skipper Dyson Heppell and defender Michael Hurley both named alongside Sam Draper. Andrew Phillips, Brayden Ham and Mason Redman have been omitted.

Prediction: The Eagles haven't enjoyed life in Queensland but this could be the game which gives them confidence on the road. Essendon has been on a rollercoaster ride but really shouldn't be a match for a West Coast team eyeing off the premiership cup.

Tip: Eagles by 18 points.

Score: Eagles 9.6 (60) def. Bombers 6.9 (45)

Wednesday, September 2

Richmond vs. Fremantle, Metricon Stadium, 7.10pm (AEST)

Team news: For the Tigers, Jack Higgins and Nathan Broad come in for the injured duo Dylan Grimes and Kane Lambert. The Dockers have recalled Blake Acres, Jesse Hogan and Michael Frederick for the Brett Bewley and dropped duo Connor Blakely and Liam Henry.

Prediction: The young Dockers can be pretty pleased with their season so far but could be set for a reality check when they come up against the new flag favourites in Richmond. Damien Hardwick's side is building week after week and could be set for a big win against Fremantle.

Tip: Tigers by 37 points.

Score: Tigers 8.8 (56) def. Dockers 4.5 (29)

Thursday, September 3

Sydney vs. Melbourne, Cazaly's Stadium, 4:40pm (AEST)

Team news: There is just one change to the Sydney line-up with Lewis Taylor named and James Bell dropping out. There is far more upheaval in the Demons squad however with Alex Neal-Bullen, Bayler Fritsch, James Harmes and Joel Smith all added; Mitch Hannan and Aaron vandenBerg have both been omitted as a result while Kysaiah Pickett is being managed and Michael Hibberd is injured.

Prediction: A rejuvenated Melbourne is playing for finals and that should be enough to see them get the job done against the Swans. However, we've been wrong about the Dees before and the Swans were excellent at times against the Power last round ...

Tip: Demons by 11 points.

Score: Swans 10.7 (67) def. Demons 6.10 (46)

GWS vs. Carlton, Metricon Stadium, 7:10pm (AEST)

Team news: The Giants have made just one injury-enforced change with Jeremy Finlayson coming in for Josh Kelly. The Blues regain Mitch McGovern and Sam Petrevski-Seton alongside Matthew Cottrell, with the injured Lachie Plowman and Michael Gibbons dropping out and Tom De Koning omitted.

Prediction: After losing to the Pies last week, Carlton's highly unlikely to be playing finals in 2020. With morale having dipped, you would expect the Giants to pounce and follow up their monster win over the Dockers as they close in on a finals berth.

Tip: Giants by 15 points.

Score: Giants 6.12 (48) def. Blues 5.9 (39)

Friday, September 4

Brisbane vs. Collingwood, Gabba, 7:50pm (AEST)

Team news: Two players are making their debut in this one. Max Lynch will play his first for the Pies, while Keidean Coleman will suit up for the Lions for his first game. Daniel Rich is also back for Brisbane, as Alex Witherden and Lincoln McCarthy go out. Chris Mayne and Darcy Cameron go out of Collingwood's team, Levi Greenwood returns.

Prediction: We'll have to wait until Friday night for the match of the round. Brisbane has been in ominous form, while the Pies found a way to get by the old rival Carlton last week. It's a game Nathan Buckley's side needs to win if they want to play finals. It's a game the Lions need to win if they want to finish on top of the ladder.

Tip: Lions by 3 points.

Odds: Lions $1.41, Magpies $2.85
