The Walt Disney Company, together with the AFL, has announced a new Australian-commissioned Disney+ series titled Fearless: The Inside Story of the AFLW.
With unprecedented access, the six-part docu-series will deliver a world-first look inside AFLW and the powerhouse movement it has become for women in sport.
The series will launch on Disney+ in 2022, ahead of the next season of AFLW once confirmed.
Since its commencement in 2017, the AFLW has been a gamechanger in its short history and the series will give Disney+ audiences an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the evolution of Australia's number one sporting code and the evolution of professional female sport.
"We are incredibly excited to launch this documentary that celebrates the journey of these trailblazing women - some of the first to play Australian Rules Football professionally," Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company in Australia and New Zealand, said.
"They are extraordinary women, paving the way for future generations. This documentary showcases their journey and their own unique way of chasing football glory."
Four clubs will be spotlighted: Adelaide Crows, Collingwood, GWS GIANTS, and Western Bulldogs, with a focus on the playing groups.
The behind-the-scenes camera and post-production crew is led predominately by a team of authentic, female storytellers, capturing the action from the AFL Women's competition. Cameras were rolling in April 2022 capturing the historic victory of the Adelaide Crows - claiming their third AFLW premiership.

This inspiring series is about more than football.
With the AFLW at the forefront of celebrating diversity and inclusion and redefining gender norms, the series will explore the journey, sacrifice and history in the making, as the trailblazing women of the AFLW pave the way in professional sport and help change the sporting and cultural psyche of Australia.
