The West Coast Eagles have announced former Richmond and Melbourne assistant Andrew McQualter as their next head coach, after the club parted ways with long-term coach Adam Simpson earlier in the year.
McQualter served as Richmond's caretaker after Damien Hardwick left the post midway through 2023, leading the Tigers for 13 games. He was in the running along with Geelong assistant Stephen King, and Collingwood assistant Hayden Skipworth.
McQualter played 94 AFL games for St Kilda and Gold Coast between 2005 and 2012.
