Ben Watson should be ready for Ravens after returning to practice

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- If the routine is anything like last week, Baltimore Ravens tight end Ben Watson will play Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

Watson, who is dealing with a calf injury, returned to practice Friday after missing the past two days. This was exactly how it played out last week for Watson, who caught six passes for 43 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Until Watson recovers from the injury, the Ravens could limit Watson to one practice in order to make sure he's available for games.

Watson is Baltimore's leading receiver with 16 receptions for 146 yards and one touchdown. Through four games, Watson ranks 10th in catches and 12th in receiving yards among NFL tight ends.

Watson and the Ravens play the Raiders, who have been in the middle of the pack in defending tight ends. Oakland has allowed an average of 4.7 catches and 57.7 receiving yards to tight ends this season and a total of two touchdowns.

In other injury news, cornerback Jimmy Smith (Achilles) returned to practice after missing two days. Tight end Maxx Williams did some light work off to the side before heading back to the locker room when team drills began. Only two Ravens players were absent: defensive tackle Brandon Williams (foot) and linebacker Terrell Suggs (scheduled day off).
