The Miami Dolphins selected offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil with the No. 13 overall pick in the NFL draft. Tunsil found himself in the midst of controversy minutes before the draft began as a video of him wearing a gas mask and appearing to smoke a substance through a plastic tube emerged on his Twitter account. Tunsil addressed the video and other issues in a 3 minute, 16 second video conference call with Dolphins reporters Thursday night.

How are you doing?

I’m doing good, man. I’m doing good.

What was going through your mind with the long wait in the green room?

I mean, it’s just a blessing to be in the green room, just to be a part of the NFL. Just to be a part of the Miami Dolphins organization. It was a silent moment. But I’m happy for everybody that went above me. Like I said, I got a chip on my shoulder and I can’t wait to play football.

How long ago was that video taken?

That video was years ago, man. It was years ago. Like I said, people hacking my account. I don’t know what’s going on. I can’t control none of it. The only thing I can control is what’s going on [with me].

The Dolphins said two years ago. Does that sound right?

Right.

Why would someone try to sabotage your draft night

I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know why someone hacked my account. Hey, I’m just as clueless as you all.

Are there any more videos out there?

No sir. Not at all.

Can you clarify that your Instagram also was hacked?

Yes, they both were hacked. Like I said, I can’t control it. I don’t know what’s going on. It’s just crazy. It’s a crazy moment right now. I wish I can control it, but I can’t. I don’t know how they’re hacking my phone. I don’t know how they’re hacking my social media.

Were the texts asking for money from you?

Man, I don’t know what’s going on. Like I said, people are hacking my account. People are hacking my Instagram account. They’re hacking my Twitter account. I don’t know what’s going on. I’m new to this.

Do you have an issue with drugs?

I do not have a drug problem. You can check all my college tests. I never failed one.

Who hacked into your accounts?

Like I said, I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know why they hacked my account. I didn’t do nothing to nobody. I’m harmless (laughs).

Does it make you angry?

I’m ready to play football, man. It’s a love for the game. It’s not all about the money. Like I said, I got a chip on my shoulder. I can’t wait to play for the Miami Dolphins organization.

Will you press charges?

Do I want to press charges? Nah, I don’t want to press charges.

What would you say to people who question your character?

Don’t question my character. You can’t judge a book by its cover, man. I’m a good person. I’m a laid-back guy. I don’t do much, man.

Do you think every team knew about the video?

This video was launched, like, minutes before I got into the green room. And it’s crazy how somebody just hacked my account. It’s just crazy how they post videos like that.

Will you be a left tackle for the Dolphins?

Whatever position they want me to play I will give it my all.
