The Atlanta Falcons are riding high, having won their fifth game in their last six outings on Sunday. But to head coach Raheem Morris, the energy levels after the game weren't commensurate with the team's 6-3 record.
Speaking to the media after the game, Morris was surprised at the lack of commotion inside the bowels of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
"It's so quiet in here," he quipped. "C'mon. Did we lose?"
Morris wasn't the only player or coach to have unique insights after a win in Week 9 of the NFL season. Here are some of the other top post-victory quotes.
Detroit Lions HC Dan Campbell
The Lions played their first outdoor game of the season on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, but their winning ways continued.
Detroit defeated Green Bay for its seventh straight victory of the season and third straight at Lambeau Field. A critique of the Lions is that they're unable to perform at a high level when not playing indoors. Campbell heard that theory and shut it down in a passionate post game locker room speech.
Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels
The Commanders handled business in a divisional matchup on the road, dispatching the New York Giants 27-22 at Metlife Stadium.
The win, which Washington obtained with stalwart running back Brian Robinson Jr. out injured, moved the Commanders to 7-2 on the season for the first time since 1996. Daniels credited the victory to the team's mentality up and down the depth chart.
Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner
"Man, the big boys up front came to play today."
Amassing over 200 rushing yards as a team is usually a good sign that you're having a good day, which was the case for the Cardinals on Sunday.
Running back James Conner amassed 107 of those yards. All three of Arizona's touchdowns came via the ground game, with a different player tallying each score. Conner credited the strong day for Arizona's offense to the play of the team's offensive line up front.
Buffalo Bills HC Sean McDermott
"Mentally tough. I'm so proud of you man. Aren't you guys proud of him?"
Tyler Bass was the hero in Buffalo's 30-27 win over the Miami Dolphins, with the kicker's 61-yard field goal with five seconds remaining securing a win for the Bills. The game-winning boot was the longest in Buffalo franchise history.
Bass had struggled with consistency previously, most notably missing a potential game-tying field goal in the divisional round of last year's playoffs against the Kansas City Chiefs.
But the fifth-year kicker kept his cool with the game on the line at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, and Bills head coach Sean McDermott praised his resiliency while awarding him the game ball.
