Why Brodie Grundy is the recruit of the year? (1:41)

ESPN's Jarryd Barca says it's hard to go past Grundy as the best recruit of the year, with the Sydney ruckman putting together one of his best seasons. (1:41)

Welcome back, everyone! Round 15 of the 2024 AFL season is almost upon us. Our footy experts have put their heads together to help you out. So open your ESPNfootytips app, take notes, and get ahead of the game!

Friday night starts off with a bang as Carlton and Geelong clash in a blockbuster. The Cats have struggled against top eight teams, Round 15 a must-win for them against the high-flying Blues.

On Saturday it's the Battle of the Bridge. The Giants look to be back, finding their form after last weekend's win over the Power. Hosting the Swans at ENGIE Stadium, would there be a better way to celebrate a Saturday than beating the 'big brother' on your home deck?

For the last game of the weekend the Gold Coast Suns will travel to Perth to take on the Fremantle. The Suns -- when playing away from home -- haven't had any success, they are 0-6 when playing interstate this season. Can they flip the switch fresh off the bye, or can the Dockers redeem themselves in front of a home crowd?

EXPERT TIPS:

Jake Michaels

Last week: 6
Season total: 78

Certainty and why: The Suns just don't win on the road, and I can't trust them until they break that duck. Dockers to win.

Upset and why: It's tough for me to make a case for any underdog in this shortened round. The Giants might be the best pick if you're looking to take a stab, but otherwise it's a week for the favourites.

Tips for the week:

Carlton vs. Geelong
Port Adelaide vs. Brisbane
GWS vs. Sydney
Melbourne vs. North Melbourne
Essendon vs. West Coast
Fremantle vs. Gold Coast

Last week: 5
Season total: 76

Certainty and why: Dons will win well against the Eagles this week I feel.

Upset and why: I'm backing the Suns - they finally break their road duck this week. They've had a week off, Freo were bad last week ... maybe I'm reading too much into it all, but I have a feeling about the Suns.

Tips for the week:

Carlton vs. Geelong
Port Adelaide vs. Brisbane
GWS vs. Sydney
Melbourne vs. North Melbourne
Essendon vs. West Coast
Fremantle vs. Gold Coast

Jarryd Barca

Last week: 4
Season total: 77

Certainty and why: With both teams having a week off there should be no 'post-bye' worries for the Bombers. They've earned their spot in the top four through this stage of the season and should be able to show why at home against West Coast.

Upset and why: I'm tipping the Giants this week. Rivalry games always tend to go either way and the Swans have to slip up eventually, right?

Tips for the week:

Carlton vs. Geelong
Port Adelaide vs. Brisbane
GWS vs. Sydney
Melbourne vs. North Melbourne
Essendon vs. West Coast
Fremantle vs. Gold Coast
