Saints WR Willie Snead eligible to return, but questionable to play

SUNBURY-ON-THAMES, England -- Receiver Willie Snead is back on the New Orleans Saints’ roster -- but he might not be back on the field when the Saints play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday in London.

Snead was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report after he practiced on a limited basis with a hamstring injury.

Snead, who returned this week from a three-game suspension, was practicing with the team during the early portion of Friday’s practice that was open to the media. However, Snead was working off to the side during the early portion of practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Snead was not listed on the Saints’ practice participation report on Wednesday or Thursday, as he had a commissioner’s roster exemption that lasted through Thursday. It's unclear if he ever practiced with the full team on those days.

Fantasy owners will have to wake up early to find out Snead’s status before the game in London, which is scheduled to kick off at 9:30 a.m. ET.

“He’s an experienced guy, so the transition for him obviously with his intelligence is smooth,” Saints coach Sean Payton said, adding that Snead “moved around well.”

“It’s good to have him back, and we’ll sort through what we want to do in regards to this game and then moving forward,” Payton said.

Running back Adrian Peterson, meanwhile, should be fine after he returned to full practice participation Friday after getting a day of rest on Thursday. Peterson was not listed with any injury designation on Friday’s report.

Offensive tackles Zach Strief (knee) and Terron Armstead (shoulder) are both listed as questionable -- though Strief appears to have the better chance of playing Sunday after practicing fully on Friday. Armstead was limited in Friday’s practice.

Cornerback Sterling Moore (chest) is also listed as questionable after practicing on a limited basis all week.

Linebacker Ben Heeney was ruled out with a knee injury that he apparently suffered on Thursday, since he practiced fully earlier in the week.

Nobody else is listed with any injury designation. Cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who missed last Sunday's game with a concussion, practiced fully all week. Linebacker Nathan Stupar practiced fully on Friday after being limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday with a hamstring injury.
