ESPN Junior 300 running back Jaelen Gill, the No. 37-ranked prospect in the 2018 class, has committed to Ohio State. Gill is also the No. 2-ranked prospect in the state of Ohio.
Gill's commitment gives the Buckeyes four ESPN Junior 300 commitments in the 2018 class along with safety Jaiden Woodbey, quarterback Emory Jones and running back Brian Snead. It also gives the staff a great start to landing its top in-state targets with offensive lineman Jackson Carman, the No. 1 prospect in the state, heavily considering Ohio State as well.
At 6 feet, 177 pounds, Gill can be a playmaker in coach Urban Meyer's offense because he can also catch out of the backfield well. He could also see time on special teams.
The No. 4 running back overall chose Ohio State over offers from Notre Dame, Michigan, UCLA, Tennessee and USC, among others.
