A dozen make-or-break recruits

Every school's recruiting class has that one guy who becomes the vocal leader of the group and tries his hardest to get elite prospects to join him. But what if that guy decided to decommit for one reason or another? What happens to the rest of the recruits in the class? The dozen seniors on this list are those who our recruiting writers around the country believe are the hinges of elite programs' revolving recruiting door.

QB Matt Alviti, Park Ridge (Ill.) Maine South
Committed to Northwestern
Northwestern's class is built around its quarterback commit, Alviti. The Wildcats have done a good job of developing quarterbacks over the past few years under head coach Pat Fitzgerald, but this time he will be able to mold the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback in the ESPN 150. Alviti had a final three of Michigan State and Notre Dame alongside the Wildcats, so he was wanted by some of the Midwest region's better programs. Alviti plays in a spread offense with a lot of running principles at Maine South, which should make for an easier transition to the Wildcats' offense.
