Team news: The Tigers could receive a timely boost ahead of their Thursday night clash, with premiership duo David Astbury and Tom Lynch putting their hands up for selection. Noah Balta and Nathan Broad won't be suiting up however, after suffering syndesmosis injuries against the Saints. For the Suns, Noah Anderson will miss after undergoing surgery on a fractured hand.

Geelong vs. Essendon, GMHBA Stadium, 7:50pm (AEDT)
Team news: Geelong has called upon Gryan Miers, Quinton Narkle and Rhys Stanley for Friday night's clash to replace Mark O'Connor (injured), Shaun Higgins (managed) and Esava Ratugolea (managed), while they still remain without gun mid Mitch Duncan who is recovering from a PCL injury. Meanwhile, fringe Bomber Tom Cutler has earned a recall after amassing 35 touches in the VFL side last week, while small forward Will Snelling will play his first game since injuring his thumb.

Team news: Simon Goodwin has elected not to change a winning formula, naming an unchanged lineup from the side that defeated the Bombers last week. Shane Mumford, Tom Green and Lachie Ash come in for the Giants replacing omitted dup Matt de Boer and Sam Reid. Stephen Coniglio will come back through the VFL. this weekend.

Adelaide vs. Brisbane, TBA, 4:35pm (AEST)
Team news: The Crows announced Luke Pedlar will make his AFL debut against the Lions. Billy Frampton and Nick Murray have also been named, but key forward Darcy Fogarty is one of three omissions. Gun Brisbane mid Jarrod Berry will play his first game since Round 5 after recovering from a groin injury, while premiership player Grant Birchall also returns from illness.

Team news: Brownlow medalist Nat Fyfe will face the Blues this week after being a late out in Round 15, but key forward Matt Taberner is set. for a stint on the sidelines. Carlton's trio of inclusions include Nic Newman, Levi Casboult and Tom Williamson. Marc Murphy and Sam Docherty have both succumbed to injury, while Zac Williams will serve his one-match suspension.

Team news: After coming on as a sub last week, ShaunBurgoyne returns to the field for his 400th AFL game. X-factor Chad Wingard has been sidelined by a hamstring injury, while first-year player Denver Grainger-Barras suffered a head knock and will therefore be ineligible to play this weekend under the league's new 12-day concussion protocols. The Power have made two changes, with Riley Bonner and Sam Mayes replacing Martin Frederick and Dylan Williams.

Superstar Buddy Franklin is free to play after escaping suspension for a high hit last week. Eagles livewire Liam Ryan is unavailable due to suspension, with Jamaine Jones named as his replacement.
